Norges Bank Investment Management Fund
Norway manages its oil wealth through a sovereign wealth fund that has reached US$2.1 trillion in assets as of early 2026.
It uses its returns on this oil wealth to support public services like healthcare and education. This all ensures that natural resource wealth benefits all citizens. Norway is now the richest country on the planet.
The fund also invests its oil surplus into global stocks and bonds, as well as real estate.
The Norges Bank Investment Management Fund is now so rich that the fund owns – on average – about 2% of every single listed stock in the world.
And this is just oil wealth. Norway does not collect the economic rent of its land either.
Its existence provides a clear template for how a Citizen’s Dividend would operate in the real world.
It proves that proper utilization of all the economic rent can make society as a whole not just wealthier – but all of us fabulously wealthy.
Beyond your imagination.
